Afzelin (Kaempferol-3-O-rhamnoside) is a flavonol glycoside with anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative stress, anti-apoptotic, and anti-cardiac cytotoxic effects. It reduces mitochondrial damage, enhances mitochondrial biosynthesis, and lowers levels of mitochondria-related proteins like Parkin and PTEN-induced putative kinase 1.
