This phytochemical is an anti-inflammatory agent and phospholipase A2 (PLA2) inhibitor (IC50 = 40 µM in human neutrophils). It induces NF-κB, TGF-β, oxidative stress in mouse kidney, and mitochondrial apoptosis in rat liver.
