Diethyl succinate (Diethyl Butanedioate) is utilized at physiological pH, penetrating biological membranes for cellular integration and tricarboxylic acid cycle metabolism. It modulates microglial cell polarization and activation by reducing mitochondrial fission and ROS levels, providing inflammatory protection in primary microglial cells. Non-toxic, it's also used in flavorings and seasonings.
