This novel glucose uptake inhibitor targets glucose transporters GluT1 and GluT4 (IC50 = 68 µM). It rescues cardiac progenitor cell dysfunction and mitochondrial fission induced by high glucose levels, and sensitizes cells to FAS-induced cell death.
