Ganoderic acid T1, a deacetylated derivative of Ganoderic acid T, attenuates the antioxidant defense system and induces cancer cell apoptosis. It decreases mitochondrial membrane potential and activates caspase-9 and caspase-3, triggering apoptosis. Ganoderic acid T1 also increases intracellular ROS generation, leading to pro-oxidant activities and cytotoxicity.
