α-Lipoic Acid (Thioctic acid) is an antioxidant and a key cofactor for mitochondrial enzyme complexes. It inhibits NF-κB-dependent HIV-1 LTR activation and induces ER stress-mediated apoptosis in hepatoma cells. It can also be used with CPUL1 to create the CPUL1-LA NA nanoaggregate, enhancing antitumor efficacy.
