Metolazone is a useful diuretic that inhibits the thiazide-sensitive Na±Cl– cotransporter (NCC) (IC50 = 0.3 µM in rats), blocking sodium reabsorption. Additionally, it activates the mitochondrial unfolded protein response (UPRMT) and extends C. elegans lifespan.
