A pan-specific ubiquitin isopeptidase inhibitor (IC50s: USP2 = 45 μM, USP7 = 37 μM, SENP2 = 9.8 μM) that does not affect proteasome proteolytic activity. It induces apoptosis via a Bcl-2-dependent, apoptosome-independent mitochondrial pathway and is cell-permeable.
