Datasheet

Description

Saccharopine (L-Saccharopine) hydrochloride, a lysine degradation intermediate, acts as a mitochondrial toxin. Lysine and α-ketoglutarate convert to saccharopine hydrochloride via lysine-ketoglutarate reductase. Saccharopine hydrochloride is then oxidized to α-aminoapidate semialdehyde and glutamate by saccharopine dehydrogenase. It disrupts mitochondrial homeostasis, impairing development.
