Sanggenon C, a flavonoid, protects against cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis by suppressing the calcineurin/NFAT2 pathway. It induces apoptosis by inhibiting mitochondrial fission via ERK signaling. Sanggenon C also reduces iNOS expression in RAW264.7 cells and TNF-α-stimulated cell adhesion/VCAM-1 expression by suppressing NF-κB. It exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antitumor activities.
