Brain Organoid Development
Brain organoids, or 3D models of the brain, are created from stem cells. Protheragen is committed to creating state-of-the-art brain organoid models from human iPSC/ESC to improve research and assist in developing therapies for uncommon neurological disorders. Remarkably accurate, these models can serve in investigating the mechanisms of diseases, conducting large-scale drug screening, and tailoring specific medical treatments to individual patients.
Overview of Brain Organoids
Brain organoids are self-organizing, 3D neural structures created from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs), which comprise embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Their functional neural networks, cellular diversity, and human neurodevelopmental capabilities portray miniature brain-like organs. This makes them extremely useful for research on complex neurological disorders which are challenging to study in animal models or two-dimensional cell cultures.

Application of Brain Organoids
Brain organoids are revolutionizing neuroscience since they allow the study of human-specific neural developmental aspects such as mechanisms of disease, responses to drugs, and much more with unparalleled accuracy. These 3D models replicate complex neural structures and are air used to study rare neurological diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuroinfections. They also enable medicine to be customized to the individual patient's needs, as well as drug screening and toxicity testing. Moreover, sophisticated microglia-containing and vascularized organoids enable the study of neuroimmune interplay and the crossing of the blood-brain barrier which greatly increases organs' academic and pharmaceutical applicability.
