Rotarod Test

The rotarod test provides a convenient method for testing motor function in rodents. Diseases or damage to the central nervous system and the effect of the drug on motor coordination function and fatigue can be measured by measuring the duration of the animal's walk on the drum.

Our company offers clients a wide range of behavioral tests for evaluating motor balance and coordination in animals, including rotarod test. We are committed to providing customers with suitable test methods to support their high-end project research.

Experimental Principle

The experimental animal moves in the opposite direction of its rotation method on the rod that is constantly rotating. Due to strenuous exercise, too much lactic acid produced in the body cannot be eliminated and transformed in time, and the muscles quickly enter a state of fatigue, so that the mice fall from the rod. Anti-fatigue drugs can quickly eliminate and convert the lactic acid produced by their exercise, thereby slowing down the fatigue of muscles, achieving the effect of anti-sports fatigue, and prolonging the mouse's time in the stick.

Experimental Flow

The wheels rotate automatically when the speed is set and powered on, and the rod gradually increases the rotation speed from 2 rpm to 50 rpm over a 5-minute period. Mice first acclimatize to the training once and then perform three consecutive trials for 5 min each. The break time between each trial is 30 minutes. The average waiting time for mice to fall off the rod in the last three trials was used for analysis.

Applications

As a leading provider of animal behavior testing services, Our company focuses not only on providing efficient and professional testing services to our clients, but also on the application of various tests in relevant pathology and pharmacology. The rotarod tests we offered have a wide range of applications in motion-related behavioral studies, including but not limited to

  • Fatigue test.
  • Skeletal muscle relaxation test.
  • Central nervous inhibition experiment.
  • Other experiments that require the use of exercise to detect the effects of drugs (Such as toxic substances, deficiency of a substance in the body, the effect of cardiovascular drugs on exercise capacity).

Our company offers professional one-stop services from experimental design to results analysis to bring breakthroughs to your research. We guarantee on-time delivery of test results. If you need, you can contact us at any time.
