Antibiotics refer to a class of secondary metabolites with anti-pathogen or other activities produced by microorganisms or higher animals and plants during their life processes and are chemicals that can interfere with the developmental functions of other living cells.

With the emergence of anti-tumor antibiotics, it has been shown that the chemicals produced by microorganisms not only inhibit or kill certain pathogenic microorganisms as originally mentioned, but they also have the effect of inhibiting the proliferation or metabolism of cancer cells. Antibiotic products play an active role in the development of biochemical diagnostics.
