Stranded RNAseq
Stranded RNAseq, alternatively referred to as directional RNA sequencing, signifies a sequencing methodology that equips researchers with the ability to establish the directional orientation of a transcript concerning the DNA sequence. This attribute facilitates an enhanced level of detail and precision in annotating transcripts as compared to the traditional RNA sequencing methodologies, which are incapable of determining the transcript orientation.
By deciphering the specific transcript direction, stranded RNAseq ensures a more accurate mapping of transcriptomes. Additionally, it enables the identification of antisense transcripts, a function not achievable with conventional RNAseq techniques.
