5-Carboxylcytosine (5-caC) DNA Matched Antibody Pair
Description
5-Carboxylcytosine (5-caC) is a recently discovered DNA modification. Similar to the generation of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5-hmC) through the action of the Tet family of cytosine oxygenase enzymes on 5-methylcytosine (5-mC), it has been observed that the continued activity of Tet proteins on hydroxymethylcytosine leads to the generation of 5-formylcytosine (5-fC) and 5-carboxylcytosine. This conversion process is believed to be a potential pathway for DNA demethylation.
