Description
Piperlongumine exhibits selective cytotoxicity towards cancer cells, independent of their p53 status, while sparing normal cells. Its mechanism of action involves binding to and inhibiting proteins involved in the regulation of oxidative stress, notably Glutathione S-transferase pi 1 (GSTP1).
