The PROseq FastSelect -5S/16S/23S Kits employs an original approach to eliminate the extremely abundant 5S/16S/23S rRNA from your RNA-seq library. This specific design caters to intricate community microbial samples drawn from soil, water, stool, and sludge that houses various and diverse bacterial populations. The coverage of rRNA given by this kit is drawn from SILVA 16S sequences (around 600,000 entries), SILVA 23S sequences (approximately 170,000 entries), and 5S rRNA database sequences (more than 7200 entries). In-silico modelling displays coverage exceeding 95% of all known 5S, 16S and 23S rRNA sequences. Compatibility tests with PROTHERAGEN, Illumina and NEB RNA-seq library kits showed that PROseq FastSelect -5S/16S/23S works well with all leading RNA-seq library preparation methods. The easy-to-follow 14-minute protocol and bead cleanup can be smoothly integrated with all widespread RNA-seq library kits. It can be applied to either fragmented or full-length (non-fragmented) RNA. |
