Product Details

The REPLI-g Mitochondrial DNA Kit is capable of selective DNA amplification from DNA samples without the requirement for pre-isolation of mitochondrial DNA. Containing DNA polymerase, buffer, and specific reagents, the kit is able to uniformly amplify human mitochondrial DNA from a reduced quantity of samples through the application of the MDA technique. This straightforward procedure significantly reduces contamination of cytosolic DNA while enriching mitochondrial DNA, thereby eliminating the need for lengthy mitochondrial DNA purification. This simplified process not only mitigates the need for time-consuming isolation and purification of mitochondrial DNA, but also enhances the sensitivity of subsequent analyses by minimising the contamination of nuclear DNA.

Applications

The amplification of Mitochondrial DNA using REPLI-g technology can be utilized in many subsequent applications. These include genotyping (such as SNPs, deletions, insertions), end-point PCR, real-time PCR, and sequencing.
